Advent in Lech – There’s nowhere better to wait

Advent in Lech – There’s nowhere better to wait

Advent in Lech means ‘come up and slow down’, enjoy the peace and quiet of the snow – with the first turns on the piste, with mulled wine, cinnamon stars and music – and with cosy hours in the spa after some long walks.

The snowcats are preparing the best slopes, the bakery is making gingerbread, the children’s choir is practising ‘Silent Night’. When the Advent Lights go on in Lech, it’s time to look forward to the best period of the year. In this winter wonderland the days before Christmas offer the chance of a first run on the slopes and many other ways of having a good time in anticipation of the holiday season.

Sing for joy

On 8 December at 6 pm the choir of the Music School, conducted by Andreas Madlener, is singing Advent songs and Christmas carols on
the Rüfiplatz in Lech.

‘Love edition’ for a Christmas of Love

This year for the fifth time the Fantastic Gondolas are the focus of a unique artistic event. Famous artists, DJs and visual effects specialists will be performing on 12 December from 8.30 pm onwards on the mountain and the cable car gondolas of the Rüfikopf, turning the unique mountain scenery surrounding Lech Zürs into a gigantic backdrop for projections, visual effects and multimedia installations. This unique happening will be showcased by international DJs in the gondolas and on the outdoor stage and by live music at at an altitude of 2350 metres.

Happiness with mulled wine and stories

Happiness is, when from 16 to 20 December you can wander around the Christmas market in Lech, shop for local products and artisanal
crafts and breathe in the scents of mulled wine and cinnamon stars. Various music ensembles, brass bands and choirs will be creating
a festive atmosphere on the Kirchplatz, while adults and children get in the mood for Christmas in the light of the bonfire.

On Sunday 20 December at 8 pm the wellknown Austrian author from Vorarlberg, Michael Köhlmeier, invites young and old to the New Church in Lech, where he will be reading Christmas stories.

Winter Opening in Zürs

Zürs celebrates ‘Silent Night – Party Night’ on 4 and 5 December to mark its Winter Opening with DJ Paul Lomax (Ibiza), DJ Fab (CH), Live Rufus Martin (USA) and Saintro P _Sax UP (AUT) playing the finest Balearic Grooves and House Tunes, including live performances of saxophone and vocals on the Christmas Market in Zürs. Then the in-crowd move on to the After Party in Zürserl, where everyone can raise a glass to a good winter season.
