Skyspace Lech

The walk-in work of art by James Turrell on the Arlberg

A plain room, an elliptical opening, a largely underground walk-in work of art. Right in the middle of Lech, just a few minutes from the BURG, is the Vorarlberg's latest attraction. And for it, we owe a debt of thanks to none other than the internationally renowned American artist James Turrell. He has created a very special spot here, at 1780 metres above sea level. The idea behind it? "Seeing yourself seeing."

Arlberg Classic Car Rally

Classic car Race in Lech am Arlberg: 28 June - 1 July 2018

The beautiful classic cars of the Arlberg Classic Car Rally are once again in 2018 on the road on the stunning roads around the Arlberg, Tirol's Lech Valley and in the forest of Bregenz in Vorarlberg. Already during the prologue the first kilometres along the "Lech Canyon" closed for the purpose towards the Warth - a fabulous route which is unusable for most of the winter due to the avalanche risk.

Award "best skiing region in the world"

Now we can admit it: we can't help being a little bit proud.

This year, a season is drawing to a close that began with a very special award for the Arlberg: right on time for the start of the 2017/2018 winter season, Skigebiete-Test.de named the ten best skiing regions in the world. The crème de la crème of winter sports were chosen from over 250 ski resorts, closely inspected and tested in ten categories. The result: with a score of 90 out of a possible 100 points, Ski Arlberg won the title ahead of Zermatt and Serfaus Fiss Ladis.
