Legendary hiking

Legends of the region, history of the Walsers or natural history? The hiking tours are as varied as the themes.

On the Tannberg, you will experience ancient settlements of the former settlers from the canton of Valais in the old mountain village of Bürstegg.

At the mountain station of the Rüfikopf cable car, you set off on the circular Geoweg hike, which presents rock strata and fossils at 23 stops.

Three stages full of mythical creatures, legends. Field names and art. This is the Green Ring in Lech. The third, nature-infused route takes you from Zürs via the Sagenwald forest to the fairytale-like Libellensee lake in Oberlech.

Favourite route: Mohnenfluh

The personal favourite route of host Patricia Lorenz. There you pass the Butzensee with its emerald green water. There is hardly a nicer place to cool off in summer. On the Mohnenfluh at an altitude of 2,542 m, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Lechtal Alps.

That’s the summit!

It doesn’t have to stop with just the one summit. If you’re interested in climbing mountain peaks, you should mark the Rüfikopf, the Omeshorn, Kriegerhorn, Karhorn and the Tannberg on your hiking map. The view from all the mountains is great. Our tip: when choosing a route, pay attention to the desired difficulty.

Highlights on our in-house mountain

Just a short walk from the Burg, heaven and earth meet at the artwork “Skyspace-Lech”. The US artist James Turrell lends light an extraordinary strength. Our tip: visit at sunrise and sunset.

Holes on the mountain? The gypsum holes on the Tannberg are considered geologically unique in Europe.
