Lech am Arlberg is located at the heart of the Alps in Austria – but there are plenty of diving opportunities here. Dive into a crystal-clear mountain lake or take a diving course or diving taster session at the Lech forest pool.
Mountain lake diving in the Alps
Anyone can go diving in the sea but not everyone has the chance to dive into a mountain lake in the Alps. The Plansee lake in Reutte in Tyrol is only approx. 60 minutes from Lech. Dive into this crystal-clear mountain lake which is up to 84 m deep in places and enjoy a very special diving experience.
There are also lots of fish to see such as trout, char, perch, whitefish, carp etc. as well as crabs. Various ‘toys’ have been sunk into the water such as a carriage and boats etc. The views extend over around 20 m here. The season lasts from 1 May to 31 October.
Diving courses / PADI
At the nearby forest pool in Lech, children aged 8 and over can enjoy swimming and a diving taster session. During their holiday, adults can also complete their PADI diving certificate (Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, Seal Team, Junior Open Water).
If you are interested in diving in a mountain lake or pursuing a diving course, please contact the Arlberg Alpin Outdoor Centre.
