The best freeriding options in Lech-Zürs

From the end of November to the end of April, the very best conditions for freeriding can be found in the Lech-Zürs area. These perfect freeriding conditions have made Lech and the surrounding area a real paradise of Alpine downhill skiing over the last few years, attracting numerous holidaymakers to the Arlberg.

The descent from the Wöster is very popular among freeriders. This route leads from the Rüfikopfbahn mountain station towards the Ochsen Gümple. Skis should initially be strapped to your back as you hike along the mountain ridge to the start of the cliff at the southern peak of the Wöster before then following the descent down to Lech. The tour from Lech via the Monzabonböden is much easier and more suitable for beginners. Here freeriders can enjoy the wide and easy slopes from the Rüfikopfbahn mountain station.

The Arlberg Alpine and freeriding centre can be found in Stuben am Arlberg. Over the last few years, it has begun to specialise in freeriding and now offers courses for beginners and professionals alike. Warth Schröcken deep snow paradise

Also nearby is the Warth-Schröcken ski resort which is very popular among freeriders. Given the guaranteed snow and numerous north-facing slopes, this area is always worth a detour. Warth-Schröcken is described as the snowiest ski region in Europe. The merger with Lech-Zürs to create the Ski Arlberg skiing region means the Arlberg is an even more impressive freeride paradise with plenty of variety!
