FOR LECH TO LAKE FORMARIN AND FREIBURG HUT 

From the Burg, go southwest towards Zug on a good asphalt road. Then always along the Lech river, go past the Älpele Inn to Lake Formarin. The last stretch to Freiburg Hut becomes more interesting as the path turns to gravel.

GOOD TO KNOW

The route can be extended as a hike to Roggelskopf (2,284m). Beware! Surefootedness and a cool head for heights are required. A mountain guide is recommended!

FOR LAKE MERMAIDS: THE SPULLERSEE LOOP

Asphalt, gradients, serpentines and lake views: this tour offers everything a biker’s heart desires. In terms of stages, it goes first from Lech to Zug. Then along the road to the Älpele inn, uphill to the dam. Once around the Lake Spuller. Then continue up, to the Ravensburg Hut, over the Alpe Brazer and to the Stierloch-Joch. From there it goes steeply downhill through serpentines — to the fish pond in Zug.

GOOD TO KNOW

If you prefer something a little more moderate, you can take the same route back from the Ravensburger Hut on the asphalt road.
