They have been writing wine history for more than 600 years – we are proud to present wines from the Italian wine company Antinori – at the Arlberg-Vineyard Gourmet Festival that takes place at Sportpark in Lech from 6 to 9 December, where our star chef Heinrich Röder will also be conjuring up a range of culinary highlights.
It is a real powerhouse of a wine, a cult blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet sauvignon and Cabernet franc. It is the original ‘Super Tuscan’. During the Gourmet Festival Arlberg-Vineyard in Lech am Arlberg we will be presenting several vintages of the cult wine Tignanello at the BURG, on Sunday, 6 December, accompanied by a 5-course dinner.
… a ‘must know’
It was in 1971 that Marchese Pero Antinori brought the first Tignanello to market. He married the Sangiovese with international grapes and matured the resulting cuvée in barriques. Today the famous wine is made up of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet sauvignon and 5% Cabernet franc; the grapes are still harvested separately and picked by hand.
The BURG maintains a wine cellar with over 50,000 bottles from all over the world and is delighted to be presenting this famous wine.
Guests and regular customers are warmly invited to take part in the tasting in the Burg Hotel and to visit the Gourmet Festival at the Sportpark in Lech. Our head chef Heinrich Röder is presenting a show cooking session at the festival on Monday at 2.30 pm, where he will be preparing his signature Beef Tartar live, fresh and on site. ‘Finely minced beef with egg yolk, gherkins, onions, capers and anchovies’, explains Röder, ‘seasoned with olive oil, mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, chives, lemon and tabasco.’ It is served on warm toast with home-made butter.
Why not join us to enjoy this exceptional display of fine cuisine. We will happy to provide you with more information at the reception desk, and look forward to welcoming a discerning group of wine lovers and gourmets.
