From 1 to 18 April 2019, the legendary Tanzcafé Arlberg Music Festival is taking place in and around Lech am Arlberg, with dancing, singing and lots of fun – and it’s also at the BURG in Oberlech.
The winter countdown on the Arlberg has begun. Spring is knocking at the door, and dance fever has broken out in Lech Zürs: the Tanzcafé Arlberg Music Festival 2019 has begun! There will be days of partying with jazz, swing, boogie-woogie and rock’n roll. Our highlight? On Friday, 12 April, the Gerd Schuller Trio featuring Rachelle Jeanty will be appearing at the Burg Hotel Oberlech and providing the appropriate atmosphere.
Win an evening meal with the Norwegian ski racer Henrik Kristoffersen at the Burg Hotel Oberlech am Arlberg.
He has already participated in several Winter Olympics and countless world championships. His skills have been recognised with silver, gold and bronze medals. Slalom and Giant Slalom are two of his best disciplines. We're talking about Henrik Kristoffersen.
And together with the glove manufacturer Reusch, we are offering you the chance to spend some time with the successful winter sportsman here at the BURG. Meet the man himself, ask him some questions, receive some individual tips – and enjoy our culinary highlights at the same time.
21 - 22 April 2019
Each year when the winter season is coming to a close, our guests look forward to skiing in the sun, cosy après-ski hours and the legendary spring festival on the Oberlech Plateau.
Carnival Party 2019 at the BURG: Tales from the Arabian Nights – lavish fancy dress party on Shrove Tuesday
It's that time of year again, and – as usual – the legendary Lech Carnival Party will be taking place at the BURG am Arlberg! This year, the themed party promises to be orientally, hugely fabulous, because it's time for some "Tales from the Arabian Nights".
Culture on the mountain: 30 July - 3 August 2019
The Lech Classic Festival from 30 July – 3 August is another success story in the Lech summer. Here the organisers bring classical music closer to the summer guests. The audience is, according to the organisers, the sovereign, whose interest they want to wake and who they want to lead to classical music.’
The walk-in work of art by James Turrell on the Arlberg
A plain room, an elliptical opening, a largely underground walk-in work of art. Right in the middle of Lech, just a few minutes from the BURG, is the Vorarlberg's latest attraction. And for it, we owe a debt of thanks to none other than the internationally renowned American artist James Turrell. He has created a very special spot here, at 1780 metres above sea level. The idea behind it? "Seeing yourself seeing."
Three cheers for loyalty!
The Lucian family is very proud of its members of staff who have been with them for a long time, and who have devoted themselves and their abilities to the family hotel with such commitment.
Classic car Race in Lech am Arlberg: 28 - 30 June 2019
The beautiful classic cars of the Arlberg Classic Car Rally are once again in 2019 on the road on the stunning roads around the Arlberg, Tirol's Lech Valley and in the forest of Bregenz in Vorarlberg. Already during the prologue the first kilometres along the "Lech Canyon" closed for the purpose towards the Warth - a fabulous route which is unusable for most of the winter due to the avalanche risk.
Now we can admit it: we can't help being a little bit proud.
This year, a season is drawing to a close that began with a very special award for the Arlberg: right on time for the start of the 2017/2018 winter season, Skigebiete-Test.de named the ten best skiing regions in the world. The crème de la crème of winter sports were chosen from over 250 ski resorts, closely inspected and tested in ten categories. The result: with a score of 90 out of a possible 100 points, Ski Arlberg won the title ahead of Zermatt and Serfaus Fiss Ladis.
"It's a pity that you cannot caress the wines."
Well, that's what Kurt Tucholsky thought, anyway. But when you see how lovingly sommeliers Claudia Fath and Hermann Lankmaier handle the treasures in the excellent wine cellar of the BURG, then you would probably be inclined to agree with the poet. We asked the two to tell us a little about their job in general, and their secret wine preferences in particular.
