Now we can admit it: we can't help being a little bit proud.
This year, a season is drawing to a close that began with a very special award for the Arlberg: right on time for the start of the 2017/2018 winter season, Skigebiete-Test.de named the ten best skiing regions in the world. The crème de la crème of winter sports were chosen from over 250 ski resorts, closely inspected and tested in ten categories. The result: with a score of 90 out of a possible 100 points, Ski Arlberg won the title ahead of Zermatt and Serfaus Fiss Ladis.
This proved that the tireless efforts by the hosts were just as worthwhile as the investment in the new Flexenbahn and in the Trittkopfbahn I and II, which connect all the Arlberg’s major skiing regions – St. Anton, Lech-Zürs and Warth-Schröcken. With a total of 305 piste kilometres, Ski Arlberg is the biggest connected skiing region in Austria and, with a sensational 200 km of deep-snow slopes, also Top 5 in the world’s biggest skiing regions.
Ski Arlberg convinced in every category. Beginners and families are just as happy on the numerous slopes in every level of ability as professionals and freeriders. With state-of-the-art lifts systems, restaurants and legendary après ski. Special mention was made of the “Run of Fame” (65 km, 18,000 m elevation) and “The white Ring” (22 km, 5,500 m elevation).
